bringing the ansible community in Karlsruhe together

As we are managing all our servers with ansible, we decided to support the community by hosting the ansbile Karlsruhe Meetup – a community-driven event where we discuss ansible and its possibilities.

The meetup took place on 1st March 2016, 6pm at our office.

David held the first talk in which he introduced ansible. He showed all those interested how to jumpstart by launching a loadbalanced nginx webserver setup from scratch in a live demo session. After the demo David demonstrated some of our best practices to those who already use ansible.

The slides are availabe here for download: introducing-ansible.pdf (PDF, 330KB)

The code that was used in the demo is also available on github:

The event was a full success! Perhaps because of pizza and beer, but more likely because we had a lot of good conversation after the talk. Plus, we definitely gained some new ansi-bulls in Karlsuhe!

The next event is already scheduled on Tuedsay, 3rd May 2016, presumably again at our offices.
